That's okay - it's what I'm here for! I can help you with anything and everything and have frequently designed for people with absolutely NO experience at all . . . so don't be embarrassed or scared to ask me anything at all. We were all new to this once!
"What sort of website should I have?"
Once you've decided that yes, you'd like a website, what kind of site would you like it to be? Are you trying to sell a product or service? Or is it a personal or fan site, or an online journal? Do you want to appear professional and austere, or are you looking for a more friendly approach?
"What's a domain name? How can I get one?"
From the onset, I can help you arrange everything you need to get your site online. From helping you choose your domain name, registering it and then choosing your web host provider, I can help ensure that you elect the right package for you and your site.
"What about hosting?"
I can help you with that too! I can recommend a whole host of reliable web space providers, but if the thought of any of this puts you into a sweat, don't worry - I can host you myself too!
"How long does it take?"
Well, this really depends upon the complexity of the job at hand but I can usually turn a project around within 20-25 working days (this excludes weekends and public holidays) of clearance of your deposit. Please be aware, though, that when I give estimations, I mean it! I work for as long as it takes to get your site to your satisfaction!
"Why don't you have a definitive price list?"
As every single project and website is different, it's impossible to give estimates without seeing first what it you're looking for. That's why I ask you to complete the Project Assessment Form as soon as possible - it's that that will enable me to provide you with a clear estimation of price and turnaround.
"Why do I have to pay a deposit?"
It takes hours and hours to make a good website. Even the conceptualisation - the bit where I think about the design, colours, layout etc. AGES before I start putting to together - can take time. I won't waste time bidding for work. I don't create concepts. I work in partnership with my clients from the moment they pay their deposit - and that way, you always know that I'm dedicating 100% of my time to actual clients and waiting list rather than chasing new ones.
"What's special about Geek-Goddess.net?"
Nothing really. :P But what I can promise - first and foremost - is a friendly and individual service. As this site is run by me and me alone, you'll know that every graphic and piece of code is prepared and written by me. I aim to only work on one project at a time, ensuring that each site gets my full and undivided attention until it completion.
Geek Goddess isn't about profits or overheads. It's merely the small project of a nethead wanting to help as many people as possible get and stay online!
